King of the Hill Rehearsal Version

A week ago, Marty finished composing a new song called King of the Hill. It’s a really folkish one, featuring bagbipes, baroque flutes, shawms and even more bagpipes. The guys are currently trying to learn it, so that we might be able to play it live for the first time next week at Poldofka, Kladno.

Lyrics

Victory
the last of my enemies was slain
No honor, no fame
in this sinister game
but the last man standing will reign

The king is dead
long live the king
My banners will fly in the wind
I completed my mission
driven by ambition
Now I have a claim on the throne

They’re climbing up, to be taken down
to be thrown down to the ground
the King of the Hill has one certainty
that one day they’ll take off his crown

He’ll be found in the mud
in a pool full of blood
with a broken neck
or a dagger in the back

He was climbing up to be taken down
now he’s found lying on the ground

History
disorder is happening again
Men with daggers and capes
marked by iron and flames
But I’m setting the rules of the game

They curse my name, the name of their king
while they should have bowed to my will
I gave them a vision and god back derision
I’m a king, I can’t be overthrown

They’re climbing up, to be taken down
to be thrown down to the ground
the King of the Hill has one certainty
that one day they’ll take off his crown

He’ll be found in the mud
in a pool full of blood
with a broken neck
or a dagger in the back

He was climbing up to be taken down
now he’s found lying on the ground

They’re climbing up, to be taken down
to be thrown down to the ground
the King of the Hill has one certainty
that one day they’ll take off his crown
He’ll be found in the mud in a pool of blood
lying dead, axe in the head
with a dagger in the back, or a broken neck
someone else follows in his track

They’re climbing up, to be taken down
to be thrown down to the ground
They’re climbing up, to be taken down
to be thrown down to the ground
They’re climbing up, to be taken down
to be thrown down to the ground
They’re climbing up, to be taken down
to be thrown down to the ground

They’re climbing up, to be taken down
to be thrown down to the ground
the King of the Hill has one certainty
that one day they’ll take off his crown
He’ll be found in the mud in a pool of blood
lying dead, axe in the head
with a dagger in the back, or a broken neck
someone else follows in his track

They’re climbing up, to be taken down
to be thrown down to the ground
the King of the Hill has one certainty
that one day they’ll take off his crown

He’ll be found in the mud
in a pool full of blood
with a broken neck
or a dagger in the back

He was climbing up to be taken down
now he’s found lying on the ground
