Confirmed for Glacial Croon IV

Get ready – we’re going to hit Brno with our Metal Crusade for the very second time!

Our friends from Tezaura invited us to perform along with them at their amazing annual winter event – Glacial Croon vol. IV – and we were only too happy to oblige.

The show will be held at Melodka on December 17, starting at 6:30pm. We’ll be the very last band starting around midnight, but you will most surely find us at the venue from the very beginning, getting warmed up by cold beer or just simply hanging out.  We’ll also check out the rest of the bands and we strongly recommend you to do the same, because it’s really lame to arrive just for the last band. And…do not leave before hearing us either. That sucks, too. So who will be playing with us at Glacial Croon vol.IV?

Tezaura

Our hosts and friends from Brno.  We invited them to Kladno in June and now they’re giving us back that courtesy. If you’re from Brno and haven’t heard of Tezaura before, just ask any local gothic nearby. Their music is as dark and full of terrors as the night itself. Broken puppets screaming in pain, black cats fleeing in terror and an army of undead butterflies trying to steal your soul. If you’re a fan of dark melodic metal or you just like Barbie, this is the band you wanna see live.

Anthology

A melodic metal band from Slovakia. Their debut album – The Prophecy – was produced by his pumpkin majesty Roland Grapow and it really sounds great! Marty was supposed to write a review about it months ago, but he seems to be somewhat busy these days. Great female vocals and really fast guitar parts is a must-see in your concert schedule.

Gate Crasher

This warmashine is the rightful headliner of Glacial Croon vol. IV and has opened to many great acts, including Iron Maiden, Lordi and even Ozzy Osbourne! It’s not much of a true heavy metal, so don’t expect chanties about mighty wizard’s power (of steel). Yet there are many girls out there listening to mainstream metal, who might all of sudden disappear in the mosh pit.

Passion of Hate

Last, but not least, another symphonic band playing at Glacial Croon with us! Nice string textures like early Nightwish, soft female vocals and the all-present rambling of guitar steam engines. It looks like the whole line-up has been very kind to us and we’re looking forward to see the rest of the bands.

Okay, well…see you in January. If you’d like to join the Facebook event, click on the poster below.

Hic Sunt Leones pt.I – Chords

Bad news – Christmas is coming.
Christmas has always been a very painful time for all the workaholics in the band. The rehearsals are cancelled, there’s absolutely no chance to grab the axe and smash some chords or spend the whole day working on new material, because you’re supposed to be with your family and celebrate…
Well, enough for the sad part. We just wanted to tell you that we’re all having a great times with our relatives, partying hard and enjoying our holiday to maximum.

And – we have a gift for you. We didn’t want to post stupid pics of the band in silly red clothes tagging virtually everyone on Facebook nor did we want to rape some carols by metalizing it. Not this time. This year, we decided to share with you the chords for Hic Sunt Leones pt. I – The Lion Within. It’s a very special “campfire edition” similar to what Marty is playing on this 2-year-old video.

The way how it’s played at Falcar shows is totally different; the song is transposed to different scales and is full of additional instrument lines, harmonies orchestral arrangements etc., but that’s not was not our intent for this gift.  Most of you don’t even have the orchestra like we do! Therefore we’re just sharing the very raw chords in a very simple scale (with, to your great relief, only one barré chord), so that you can grab a guitar and try to play it at home, ace it around the campfire with friends and so forth. It’s only about your voice and your piece of wood. No additional instruments required (but highly recommended, when you’ll be sitting around the campfire).
So, have a great Christmas, enjoy playing Hic Sunt Leones I and see you next year!

If you click on the image below, you’ll get the PDF version of the chords, so that you might print it and play it one day.

I used to be an adventurer then the luck turned away from me the call of the wild so close to my heart that its voice nearly moved me to tears and awakened the beast hiding in me, moaning heading to the east where true adventure hides Hic sunt leones the words on the sign, we're crossing the line into the no man's land civilisation behind there's nothing to lose and so much to win a challenge for those who have a lion within The world of stone was never my home play games to remain on the throne the closest of friends, are waiting for chance to stab a knife in your back one night at a feast I had planned my journey and catch’d a good breeze to grab reins and ride Chorus 2x

Inn of the Last Home Lyrics

Inn of the Last Home Lyrics

Yesterday, we were notified by our fan and friend Jenny the Strange (consider reading her blog including some reviews of Falcar past shows), that we have not yet published lyrics for our ballad Inn of the Last Home anywhere on the internet. We were really surprised that it had not leaked yet and that our fellow Keepers did not have any chance to memorize the song apart from remembering it from our shows.  What is even more surprising is that most of them are actually able to support the chorus with their own voices! Unbelievable…

Anyway, we promised her to post it on FalcarNet the following day and…behold! Hope you will like it 😉

Inn of the Last Home

Falcar

Music & Lyrics Marty Palounek

Verse I

Coming of the winter
the last days of the light
the beast approaches from the North
the cold and gloomy night
the scourge for all the pilgrims
who need to stop their trails
and find a place to stay

Verse II

The wind has spread rumors
that there’s a place to go
where you can order beer and mead
and hearth to warm your bones
please welcome to the tavern
where no one is alone
the Inn of the Last Home

Bridge

There’s a lonesome light in the twilight
cosy place to outlast the night
when you open the door
you can see friends from trails
sharing tales and singing along

Chorus

On my way back home
on my own
back from distant trails
far to the north
I have crossed the land
back and forth
now there’s one more voyage to go
through the cold

Verse III

The night of raging winter
the fun was at full swing
when beer was drunk and stories told
lone man began to sing
the crowd then joined the chorus
and formed a single voice
of folks and their rejoice

Chorus

On my way back home
on my own
back from distant trails
far to the north
I have crossed the land
back and forth
now there’s one more voyage to go
through the cold

Instrumental part including crazy dancing and epic guitar  solos
Bridge

There’s a lonesome light in the twilight
cosy place to outlast the night
when you open the door
you can see friends from trails
sharing tales and singing along

Chorus (2x)

On my way back home
on my own
back from distant trails
far to the north
I have crossed the land
back and forth
now there’s one more voyage to go
through the cold / take me home
