St.Nick’s Party

St.Nick Header Image

Here, in the deep dark woods of the Czech Republic, we have a tradition of celebrating the day of Saint Nicholas. St.Nick is an old man with long beard and a golden crotch dressed in red robes.  He wanders the streets on that special day, accompanied by two fellows; an angel and a devil. Together they visit families with young kids and scare them to death. Children who behaved good are rewarded with sweets. Those who didn’t get only coal or might as well be taken by the devil.

St.Nick Party - Official PosterWhat a great opportunity for a party! We invited our friends, Barruth and Harpie, to perform with us in Poldofka, Kladno on 6th December. Each fan who comes in a costume or wears accessories somehow related to the St.Nick tradition gets a special discount. If this motivation tool works, the crowd will be full of masked people, which sounds like so much fun. And after all three bands finish their sets, there will be a metalotheque going on until morning.

If you want to hang out with us soon, this is the party you don’t wanna miss. It’s the last chance to see us live this year.

But don’t worry, we’ll come back in January. Enjoy the latest Barruth video on YouTube, check out our cool poster and, if you’re interested, add yourself to our event on Facebook.

Destiny Changes

Destiny Changes - YouTube video preview

Today we uploaded a new video on Youtube called “Destiny Changes”. Some of you might recognize, that this is the new intro we’ve been using since September. This time, we took our time and did another version with better mix and cinematic video. The message should be pretty straightforward: You hold the key to your own destiny. Hope you guys enjoy it!

Destiny Changes – lyrics

For years we’ve been told who we are
For years we’ve been told where our place is
For years we’ve been told to play our role without hesitation
To live a meaningless life

We have all been deceived

This world is built upon weepers
When they fail, there’s the destiny to blame
Yet there are others who keep trying

The Keepers

Who are you?
Will you keep running away?
Or make your own way through this world
where Destiny Changes?

Although we didn’t plan it at all, the video came out on the 25th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution. Is this just a coincidence or is it destiny?

VolumeMax Fest III

Hi everyone,

we were invited to rock at VolumeMax Fest III and it’s gonna be some great fun. We haven’t played at Modrá Vopice since 2011 and we’re looking forward to it.  Our good friends Wolfarian will perform there to. It’s in the middle of the working week and they have to drive all the way from Brno, so we’ll be the first opening act for this fest.

Let’s take a brief look the rest of the bands.

This band from Germany managed to bridge old-school prog-rock and modern progressive metal. It’s technical, well arranged and…well, there’s even a more important fact: Their music is supposed to be vibrant and full of passion. No, we’re not trying to do the marketing for them, this stuff is actually pirated from their website 😉 We don’t know them personally yet, but seeing them play live sounds like an amazing experience.

Dying Passion

The hosts of this fest who are at this moment touring Europe side by side with Dante. They used to be called doom metal, but now it seems that more and more people are now thinking of them as a progressive band.  By hook or by crook, they try hard and are getting more and more attention, which is really a big inspiration for us all. Besides, their singer has a wonderful voice. Check that by yourself now.

We’re pretty sure you already know those guys, since they played with us in April this year. For those not so familiar with them, you just need to know that they’re a really huge band. And by huge, we mean HUGE. There’s eight of them and they don’t kill each other which is totally amazing. And they have a beautiful singer, a terryfying growler, not to mention flute and violin. For those of you who are into folk stuff, looking for something fresh, this is a good band to take a look at.

If you’re trying to catch our show, arrive soon. As we’ve already written, we play the opening act and start playing precisely at half past six. No delay this time, because there are three more bands playing after us. But we’ll have plenty of time after the show if you want to hang out and share a beer or two with us.

New Promo

This photo of Patrik is not the official part of promo shooting, but we leaked it anyway.

The day after we played our first show in September, we hit the road to take some promo pictures. We got up early, still tired after the show. The whole scene appeared as if we were a bunch of “homies” from Grand Theft Auto.

We started in Kladno, drove to Prague to pick up Patrik & Patrik, then headed to Holubice to take Roman aboard. Finally, we all arrived to Panensky Tynec to do the shooting. There’s a really awesome unfinished monastery where Davey used to sing with a choir. The decision to do it there was made very quickly and, by looking at those photos, we think it was a good idea.

Those pics were taken by our good friend Patrik Chrastil. We know him for quite a while, therefore the atmosphere was relaxed and we had literally load of laughs. He’s amazing personality indeed. Check out his website jericho.thez.info.

This is just the official part of the promo shooting. We also have a less serious stuff which we will post here over time.

You may also view those photos in our brand new press section.

A New Website

Falcar Band Promo by Patrik Chrastil

Hello again,

we just launched a new version of our website. The old one looked like one of the very first World of Warcraft private servers, not to mention Patrik literally hated the design. Therefore Marty was forced to sacrifice several hours and wrote a bit of the code. Once again, the next iteration of Matrix is far more professional and powerful. Right now it’s more or less just an online presentation, but we have big plans to make it more interactive: A shop to buy merch and download music online, a backstage area where you can be in touch with the band every day and also a blog where all the four of us will post creepy stuff.

Since we code this website all by ourselves, it may take a while.  In the meantime, check out what’s already been done.  There’s a biography page, a list of our shows and  dedicated pages for press and production as well.

All the content should be responsive, so for the first time, your phones and tablets shouldn’t creep out.
